This program let you have forms on your webpage without any CGI-script, Java or anything like that at all! It converts mailed webform results into readable text or a single datebase file. Normally, when you get a mailed response from a HTML webform, it might look like this: name=Carl+B%E4ckstr%F6m&www=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.algonet.se%2F%7Eattila%2Findexe.htm When this text is converted with Mailto Converter, it will look like this:

All special characters, spaces, linebreaks (not in the example), and so on are displayed correctly. (The web url in the example, however, is the current address to my old school, Nya Lundenskolan). Mailto Converter can convert text in the clipboard, from a disk file, an entire folder and even scan Eudora® (for results posted from the AOL and Prodigy browsers) or Netscape™ mailboxes. You can change the delimiters between the titles and the items ('=' resp. '&'), remove the titles, and save all stuff in a single file. By using these options, you can convert a form-result and open it in your favorite datebase, without any futher convertions!

What is mailto: forms?
Forms is a nice feature of the HTML 2.0 standard, provided by the W3 company (www.w3.org). A form can send the result either to a file, almost a cgi-script, or via email. There is an example HTML file enclosed in the example folder. You may also download the program HTML Vocabulary from my website to learn more about forms. The difference between a mailto: form and a common one is the ACTION=mailto:your@email.com tag which use to be ACTION=cgi-bin/script.cgi or something like that.
